The Cost of 3D Printing
Posted by Admin on 3. December, 2022
I recently bought one for those cheap power measuring thingys that Big Clive was impressed by and used it to measure how much a 3D print would cost. It was a five hour print job so it should give a reasonable set of data.
With a electritiy cost of £0.32355 per kWh and a usage according to the thingy of 0.542kWh the print cost is £0.17 which works out to £0.034 per hour. The filament used is 15m and comes to £0.64, according To Prusa Slic3r.
So total cost for printing a stand for a Dell Wyse is £0.81 Way cheaper than trying to buy one on ebay.
